Super Lemon Haze – Everything You Need to Know

Super Lemon Haze leaf

Many stoners have tried or at least heard of the legendary cannabis strain Super Lemon Haze. The strain has won multiple awards in the 1990s and was originally invented by the Dutch marijuana seed bank Green House Seeds. Green House Seeds bred this strain by blending Super Silver Haze and Lemon Skunk, which are also both widely known cannabis strains among weed connoisseurs. The aromas and flavors of this auto-flowering strain are a judicious blend of earthiness, candy, tanginess, spiciness, citrus, and lemon.

At the same time, medical marijuana users will find this robust sativa strain very useful because of its purported health benefits. Super Lemon Haze contains up to 22% THC, which makes the strain extremely effective against musculoskeletal, neuropathic, and inflammatory pain. Doctors in the US have been recommending this potent marijuana strain to their patients for dealing with appetite loss, nausea, ADHD, ADD, and anxiety.

How can I grow Super Lemon Haze?

Super lemon haze can be grown both indoors and outdoors and takes about 9-10 weeks for flowering. Difficulties when growing Super Lemon Haze seeds range from moderate to easy depending upon the cultivator’s farming experience. Growers and cultivators can look forward to a bumper harvest if they have a fair idea about fertilizers, hydration practices, the screen of green, staking, and trimming.

Growers will have it fairly easy when it comes to cultivating Super Lemon Haze as it is an auto-flowering variety. Auto-flowering strains, unlike the photoperiod strains, do not require fixed hours of sunlight and darkness for switching to flowering from the vegetative stage. You’ll find this marijuana strain convenient to nurture if you have some experience with growing weed.

You can farm and harvest this variety from cuttings and seeds of Super Lemon Haze. The plants grow relatively fast as they start bearing flowers 9-10 weeks after saplings have sprouted. Super lemon is ideal for planting during the late summer (from the middle of July-August) and ready to be harvested by October end.

Flowering Time

The plants have a medium to tall stature, with some plants attaining a height of almost 80 inches or 6.66 feet. You’ll see buds appearing on the plant stalks within 7-8 weeks of having planted the cuttings or seeds. Your crop will be ready to harvest a couple of weeks following the appearance of buds.

If you’re cultivating indoors, you can expect a maximum yield of approximately 28 oz per meter sq. On the other hand, you can harvest up to 35 ounces of weed from every plant if you grow outdoors. Super Lemon Haze is exceptionally resistant to mishandling, fungus, viruses, bacteria, mold, and mildew.

This cannabis strain thrives best in a sunny Mediterranean climate. Like with any other cannabis strain, growers can boost their yields by adding a variety of nutrients. Still, the strain is more amenable to growing indoors (preferably in a setting that simulates the Mediterranean climate) compared to outdoors. If you take good care of your crop, you’ll see the plants grow quite tall, bearing bright green leaves and flowers with bright carroty pistils sagging with resinous, sticky trichomes. The overpowering fragrance of the ripening flowers will fill your growing area in no time. You may have to resort to covering the crop with a screen if you do not want to alert your neighbors.

Flavors and smells

The overwhelming lemon scent emanating from the fully-grown plants helps you to identify this cannabis strain. The chemical compound d-limonene, which imparts the typical citrusy aroma and tanginess to lemons, also abound in Super Lemon Haze. The chemical found naturally in this particular auto-flowering cannabis variety imbues the strain with a few curative properties.

Medical or Health Benefits

Super Lemon Haze, like its parent strains, Lemon Skunk and Super Silver Haze, contains a high concentration of THC but is low in CBD. Therefore, this cannabis variety is touted as an effective analgesic, helping in relieving muscle spasms, muscle cramps, neck pain, sciatica, arthritis, and back pain. Super Lemon can also help deal with inflammatory pain such as migraine and neuropathic pain, including fibromyalgia.

Medical marijuana users inconvenienced due to nausea can use Super Lemon Haze to good effect. Nausea is a recurrent symptom associated with chemotherapy or radiation treatment patients who have cancer. To say the last but not the least, patients experiencing appetite loss and suffering from depression, diabetes, heart disease, multiple sclerosis, and epilepsy can take Lemon Haze for relief.

Adverse Reactions/Side Effects

Super lemon haze has many properties of a sativa strain of cannabis. On inhaling the vapors of the strain, your mouth will be filled with the aromas of lemon, citrus, pine, candy, and earthiness. Slowly and gradually, as the THC’s effects kick in, you’ll feel relaxed as your stress, pains, and aches seem to wither away.

You’ll be in a gregarious mood and will want to engage in a conversation with your friends. Additionally, you will feel like giving vent to your creativity, i.e., you’ll want to draw or sing a song. This cannabis variety hardly has any side-effects that you should be worried about.

Some typical side-effects related with Super Lemon Haze are:
