Legal Marijuana in Canada

It’s 12:01 and I just bought pot from the Ontario Online Cannabis Store (OCS)

Well this is quite something.. After refreshing the page about 100 times, at 12:01 the OCS went live and I was able able to purchase legal marijuana. It still hasn’t fully hit me yet, it still doesn’t feel real…

It’s been an exhausting day. Getting the site ready for today.

Traffic to WeedLoving.ca doubled late last week, then went absolutely crazy yesterday (Monday) with a 4x site traffic increase that basically crashed my site.

Tuesday, I decided to upgrade my server and site traffic was up 40% again from Monday. Pretty incredible and tells you just how much legal cannabis has caught the imagination of people across Canada.

With a bigger machine in place, there were lots of little hiccups.. but ready for midnight and the traffic that’s expected for the next few days.

Now with the shopping journey..

First – You’ll get an age check to verify that you are legally old enough to shop on the site.

I wanted to make sure that I ordered immediately as some marijuana strands were already sold out within the first hour and that Canada Post is threatening to strike as early as Monday.

You then come to the main menu, ton of choices of which I still haven’t gone through yet.

After I started clicking through the cannabis section, it was absolutely overwhelming in terms of choice. I have no idea what’s good or not, there are pages of different types of marijuana to choose from.

One thing I didn’t like is that it didn’t show any of the actual buds, just the packaging which takes away from the experience.

Like throwing darts, here are the four types of marijuana I bought (4 grams) with again no clue of what to buy other than they had fabulous names and a decent THC count.
