Happy May 24! Am I allowed to smoke weed in provincial parks this long weekend?

The May 24 long weekend is here and the weather is finally warming up. Our first summer of legal marijuana means that it’s Canada’s first season of a new era.

Big question that many people don’t know is that you ARE allowed to smoke weed at provincial parks, but there are rules to where you can do it. Generally you are permitted to smoke weed at your campsite, but not in common areas. Remember to be considerate to fellow campers.

Each province is different, refer to the Parks Canada cannabis guidelines to make sure you are not breaking the law!
