Canadian Newbies: Buying pot for the first time? What does 1 gram of weed look like

what does gram weed look like featured - Canadian Newbies: Buying pot for the first time? What does 1 gram of weed look like

Even I have to even admit… When weed went legal in Canada on October 17th, I was totally overwhelmed when I logged on to the OCS to buy marijuana for the first time. So many choices.. I really had no clue other than sorting by THC strength and whether it was an Indica or Sativa strain of weed.

I get emails from people all the time asking for suggestions.. What type should I buy, how much should I get?

I always recommend to buy 1 gram of several types and test them out. Don’t buy larger amounts in the case that you don’t like that particular strain, explore different things and see what you like.

Watch – Cannabis 101: Visual Guide to Cannabis Quantities

Back to October 17th as the clock struck midnight, I bought 4 types of weed (a gram each) from the OCS to see what this was all about.

Marijuana has never fully adopted the metric conversion. Buying from your corner pot dealer meant you were talking quarters and ounces..

1 gram = 1 gram
Half-Quarter = 3.5 grams
Quarter = 7 grams
Half-Ounce = 14 grams
Ounce = 28 grams

You’ll see legal options (when they have anything in stock) to usually buy 1, 3.5 or 7 grams – Again don’t commit to larger quantities unless you really like a particular strain of weed.
